Congratulations on finishing treatment and moving on to retainers!

Get ready to wear retainers— they maintain the amazing results of your treatment! Teeth have a natural tendency to shift and move over time, even after orthodontic treatment. Retainers help to hold your teeth in their new position, preventing them from relapsing or shifting back to their original alignment.

Wear and care instructions

  • Wear Your Retainers: You must wear your retainers full time. Remove them only when eating and brushing your teeth.
  • Storage: If they are not in your mouth, remember to put them in the case provided.
  • Hygiene: Clean your retainers by brushing them with a very small amount of toothpaste whenever you brush your teeth. For an extra deep clean, you may use cleaning crystals occasionally.
  • Cleaning crystals instructions: Dissolve the packet in a glass of cold water, submerge the retainers for 15 minutes, then rinse with water.
  • Seek Help When Needed: If you experience any issues with the fit of your retainers, or you lose or break your retainers, please contact our office.
